The Fashions - Fairy Tales - 1961 - Elmor-301 - Barbara English - Girl G...

Great old 45 from Girl Group The Fashions, featuring Barbara English. Released on Elmor in 1961. Flip side is "Please Let It Be Me".

The Fashions - Please Let It Be Me - Girl Group - 45 - Elmor - 1961

Great old 45 from Girl Group The Fashions, featuring Barbara English. Released on Elmor in 1961. Flip side is "Fairy Tales". Neither of the songs are conventionally catchy in my opinion but both really enjoyable none the less. I think this is my favorite of the two songs.

Kent Morrill - I Cannot Live Without Her - 1969 - Ex-Wailers

Interestingly, when I first heard this song I thought to myself that vocally this dude sounded a little like Roy Orbison and then when I was doing some research on old Kent I found out that later in life he was one of the leading Orbison impersonators in the country and was much regarded for his quality as not only could he pull the look off, vocally he wasn't too shabby either.

Morrill original sang with Tacoma, WA's Wailers, best known for their hit "Tall Cool One".

Kent passed away in April 2011 at the age of 70.

We currently have this fine record for sale in our ebay store!

Kent Morrill - The Wind Calls The Wild To It's Own - 1969 - Ex-Wailers

This is an interesting 45 sung by the ex-vocalist for the late 1950's early "garage band" The Wailers out of Tacoma, WA. This record is country-tinged soft rock that is really sorrowful and sad. Upon hearing the 45 originally I wasn't really blown away by the songs and didn't think much of them one way or the other, however between my original play testing, then dumping the vinyl on to the computer, making the "video" and making sure the MP3 sounded OK, I have grown to appreciate both songs and over the past few days have had them stuck in my head. They are the sneaky kind of catchy pop that you don't expect to get stuck in your head as the tracks are very unassuming and also kinda sad... and this is the more upbeat of the two songs!

Morrill passed away in April, 2011 shortly after his 70'th birthday.

Damnation of Adam Blessing - Back To The River 45 -

Absolutely bad-ass music out of my home town, Cleveland, Ohio! Call it what you will... Psych or Garage or Hard Rock or Proto-Punk.... whatever the hell it is, is original, viscous, and catchy!

"Back To The River" is a classic and one of their "Hits", though I think the flip side ("Driver") is even more bad-ass. That song will be posted next.

Bob Lind - Goodbye Neon Lines - 45 - 1968 Folk Rock

I'm not 100% sure, but this may have been released only as a 45 as I think I have all the LP's Bob Lind released on World Pacific and when I found this 45 this spring I was thrilled since the songs did not sound familiar to me and I truly love the folk-pop stylings of Bob Lind! As such, this is one of Bob's more elusive releases (pardon the pun). This song in particular is rather uncharacteristic of Lind stylistically, but none the less a great piece of 60's rock!

4 Seasons - Beggin' - 45 - Northern Soul - 1967 - Four Seasons

This was the hit, "Beggin'" and is a song the Northern Soul collectors seem to enjoy. Great 4 Seasons song from 1967. The flip side is "Dody", which again, I prefer more than the A side, though this single is solid as hell all around in my opinion!

Yankee Dollar - City Sidewalks - Psych 45 - 1968

Released by Dot (17123) circa 1968. Original US press! "City Sidewalks" is the B side of "Sanctuary", though I enjoy this song more, which seems to be happening to me a lot lately, that I prefer the B side of these odd old singles. Great, rare late 60's Psych. Female vocals in the style of Grace Slick. I quite enjoy the effects employed on this song along with the slightly creepy organ line.

Yankee Dollar - Sanctuary - Psych 45 - 1968

Released by Dot (17123) circa 1968. Original US press! "Sanctuary" is the A side, I am pretty sure. Great, rare late 60's Psych mixed with some garage/frat organ tinkling. Female vocals akin to Jefferson Airplane. Both sides are solid songs of the genre! Hard to find 45 and in fantastic all around condition!

Arthur Epps - There Was a Party - Rare R&B Spark 45 - 1961

Released on Spark in 1961. This is a pretty rare single. The recording you are hearing came straight from the 45 that we sold awhile ago for about $50. As you can hear, the record is in really fantastic shape! Looked and sounded near mint. A true gem for the collector!
