Super rare private press out of Cleveland, Ohio circa 1981. Rare and hard to find. This copy I have is actually autographed by the songwriter which is really cool.

Great funk/soul/boogie.

New Jerusalem Mass Choir - "We Shall Be Changed" - Rare Black Gospel

Not a lot of info about this album or label. Really good upbeat funky gospel from the New Jerusalem Mass Choir of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. The church and the choir are both still active today, which is nice. I am guessing this was released somewhere between the late 1960's and late 1970's. Either way, the album is fantastic and if I wasn't so poor I'd keep it around in my own collection as a great token gospel LP, which all collections should have, and as it is from my home town AND good, makes it even better... however, I am broke and I'm sure a collector of private press bad-assed gospel music could also use it, so a cash trade it will be eventually!

Damnation of Adam Blessing - Back To The River 45 -

Absolutely bad-ass music out of my home town, Cleveland, Ohio! Call it what you will... Psych or Garage or Hard Rock or Proto-Punk.... whatever the hell it is, is original, viscous, and catchy!

"Back To The River" is a classic and one of their "Hits", though I think the flip side ("Driver") is even more bad-ass. That song will be posted next.

While I'm not actually selling any Nick Riley Allstars CD's, I figured I'd still share this video none the less. The NRA were a fine experimental rock band hailing from Lakewood, OH originally at the turn of the century. They broke up 8 or 9 years ago after releasing one fine album and doing a tour or two, though they did a reunion show in December of 2010 to a very enthusiastic group of old fans at The Root Cafe in Lakewood, OH which was a blast!
